The Canadian Institute for Safety, Wellness, and Performance (CISWP) is committed to advancing the safety, wellness, and performance of Canada’s workforce and through a collaborative transdisciplinary, and applied research approach. Guided by our mission to strengthen workplace capacity and support evidence-informed decision-making, we work with industry, labour, government, and academic partners to generate high-quality evidence and develop practical tools, guidelines, and services that help organizations build productive, healthy, and sustainable workplaces.
CISWP’s transformative first-of-its-kind model is data-driven, grounded in real-world primary field data, coordinated across disciplines, pragmatic and practical and timely, proactive and forward-thinking.
What Makes CISWP Unique
Our mandate is to conduct ecologically valid, field-applied research that captures the realities of work as it is performed by real workers in real environments. CISWP embeds its researchers directly into active worksites to observe job tasks and collect high-resolution exposure, capacity, and performance data that reflect the true physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental demands of work.
Enabled by our state-of-the-art laboratories and extensive research infrastructure, we translate knowledge to practical evidence-informed tools, interventions, and solutions. This ensures our research is rigorous, relevant, and immediately applicable, setting CISWP apart as a leader in workplace safety, wellness, and performance research.
