The Safe Work Solutions, Innovations, and Technology Evaluation (Safe WorkSITE) Initiative delivers specialized, real-world research designed to help Ontario businesses make evidence-informed decisions that improve worker health and safety and enhance productivity. Led by the Canadian Institute for Safety, Wellness & Performance (CISWP), Safe WorkSITE leverages CISWP’s advanced research infrastructure, both in the field and in the lab, to address industry challenges with precision and scientific rigor.
Evidence-Informed Solutions for Real-World Problems
Safe WorkSITE integrates data from CISWP’s DOSE initiative, including wearable technologies, workers’ compensation data, and lab based pilot studies, to deliver customized, high impact evaluations. Each participating organization receives a tailored Safe WorkSITE Report with:
- A breakdown of site and job-specific tasks and exposures
- Identification of root causes of workplace injuries
- Practical, actionable recommendations to improve safety, wellness, and productivity
Designed especially for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), Safe WorkSITE offers direct access to CISWP’s applied research expertise and data driven solutions.
Field-Based Exposure Evaluation
Safe WorkSITE supports partner organizations through field‑based exposure evaluation using DOSE and workers’ compensation data. This approach integrates:
- Exposure data collected through CISWP’s mobile research labs
- Wearable sensors and field instrumentation
- Workers’ compensation data aligned to National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.
